3R Assists Comfort Systems with Sustainability Report
Building upon years of partnership, 3R was well-positioned to assist Comfort Systems with their sustainability report, which included reporting in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), disclosing the Sustainable Accounting Standards Board (SASB) industry metrics, and, for the first time, incorporating the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) S2 Climate-related Financial Disclosures.
Impact
Sustainability Report: An Internal and External Tool
Comfort Systems’ Sustainability Report was shared internally across their approximately 170 locations in the U.S. and externally through publication on their website.
Internally, the report served as an employee engagement tool, receiving feedback including, “Reading [the sustainability report] gave me a deeper understanding of the broader mission and values of Comfort Systems USA.” Externally, the report is being utilized to demonstrate their sustainability commitments and performance, and will serve as a key piece of evidence for their upcoming EcoVadis submission.

3R supported Comfort Systems with data collection, writing, design, and publication of their sustainability report. 3R’s knowledge of sustainability reporting standards and frameworks helped Comfort Systems navigate the multitude of sustainability reporting requirements while staying rooted in producing a report that was meaningful to their business and met their stakeholders’ expectations.
Approach and Solution
- Sustainability Data Workbook: 3R produced a sustainability data workbook for Comfort Systems, which centralized the data points for their report, identifying which disclosure each data point satisfied across various sustainability reporting standards and frameworks (GRI, SASB, IFRS, etc). The workbook included Comfort Systems’ historic reported data points to enable analysis of trends over time.
- 2024 Sustainability Report: The annual sustainability report was a key outcome of 3R’s work with Comfort Systems. The report was professionally designed by 3R’s design partner, serving as a communication tool that aligns with Comfort Systems’ mission, values, and visual branding. The report can be viewed here.
