Golden West Packaging Group (Golden West) achieved a 15-point increase and earned a gold medal, which exceeded their initial expectation of maintaining a silver medal. As a result of our engagement, Golden West was able to strengthen relations with their key customers and build a strong foundation for continued sustainability program development. 

Client Needs

Golden West is a packaging company that delivers sustainable packaging solutions with a focus on recyclability, waste reduction, and sustainable sourcing. With new project leads stepping in to lead the 2024 submission, the team needed a hands-on, expert partner to help navigate the EcoVadis process smoothly.

Approach and Solution

• Gap Assessment: Reviewed current sustainability practices and identified quick-win improvement opportunities, including targeted human rights risk and corruption risk assessments to boost scores efficiently.
• Data Reporting Support: Collaborated across departments to gather reliable ESG metrics and developed a clear, strategic internal reporting document to maximize EcoVadis responses.
• EcoVadis Questionnaire: Assisted with completing and submitting the EcoVadis questionnaire, making the process as seamless as possible for the newly formed internal team.
• Scorecard Review & Contestation: Reviewed scorecard in detail and identified areas where additional points can be gained. We led the contestation process on the client’s behalf, which directly contributed to their medal upgrade.
• Strategic Recommendations: Delivered a tailored roadmap for long-term improvement, positioning the client to begin managing sustainability systematically.
